Hot Springs Cove is located in Maquinna Provincial Park, in the northern end of Clayoquot Sound and is only accessible by sea or air. Once you arrive at the dock in Hot Springs Cove, home to the Hesquiaht people, it is a 30 min walk along a boardwalk winding it’s way through the ancient old-growth rain forest.

The springs are in their natural state, geothermal hot spring water cascades over a small rock precipice, creating the ultimate shower. The water then runs down through a series of layered pools in a large crack in the rock until it flows into the ocean. The temperature at the waterfall is 51 degrees Celsius or 124 degrees Fahrenheit. The temperature of the pools decreases gradually as they descend to sea level allowing for a variety of temperatures to suit anyone’s comfort level. During a high tide one can sit in the lower pool and feel the ebb and flow of cold ocean water rushing in and out.
There are various hot spring tours from Tofino, on your choice boat;
