General Itinerary:
Day 1: “Cluptl-Chas”– Full Day Adventure with Tla-ook Cultural Adventures
Via authentic cedar dugout canoe, including a traditional wild salmon barbeque. Departing from Tofino, Guests will paddle the canoes over fishing grounds and clambeds as the guides tell the history of the Tla-o-qui-aht people and their environment. The outgoing tide will aid the canoe on its way to Echachist Island, the site of an old summer village where fishermen and whalers would base themselves for their summer hunts. Once on the island, continue your discoveries with your guides and follow them through the forest to hear about some of the plants and places that make the island unique. Return to the beach for a seafood feast of Wild Salmon, crab, or tsu-up (Sea Urchin), along with Bannock, seasonal fruit and salads. This daylong experience is unlike anything else you can experience on the west coast.

Whales of Clayoquot - Whales Guaranteed !
They dive, spout, breach, spyhop and lobtail! These are all typical whale maneuvers you may expect to see off British Columbia’s west coast. Board one of our new 30’ rigid hull inflatables or high speed covered family cruisers to enjoy some of the most spectacular scenery in the world! This rich and nutrient filled ocean is filled with a variety of marine wildlife including many different species of whales as well as harbor seals and sealions, sea otters, porpoises and a myriad of birdlife including puffins, blue herons and bald eagles.
Tidal Black Bear Viewing
Clayoquot Sound offers the most incredible coastline for viewing black bears. These tours cruise through the protected and calm waters surrounding scenic Meares Island. These resident bears come down to the beaches on a low tide to forage for such beach delicacies as rock crab, starfish and even a bit of kelp. They are an absolute pleasure to watch from the boat and thanks to their bad eyesight they are usually unaware of our presence as long as we keep quiet and down wind You will also have grand opportunities in this tour to view an eagle aerie with many bald eagles, Harbour porpoises, seals, river otters, blue herons and many different surprise species of wild life!
Our tours are offered as soon as the bears wake up from winter hibernation (May 1) and end when the bears travel upriver to feast on salmon (Oct 1)
