World-class fishing is to be had off the west coast of Vancouver Island.
For those who want to experience open ocean fishing, the action happens some 25 miles off-shore from Tofino & Ucluelet around the shoals of La Perouse Bank; a unique offshore eco-system that supports numerous huge schools of bait fish. Fishing off shore is an 8 hour commitment and the ultimate west coast fishing experience.
Salmon aren't the only fish in the ocean - halibut and cod are very popular and are fished all-year round. Halibut are a fairly large bottom-fish, on average 30-50lbs although they can grow to be well over 200lbs

Featered Fishing Charters – The best in the west

Tofino Charters - Bob Izumi says, "This guy knows how to catch you fish." The Coyote is an immaculate 23 foot Gulfstream model Grady White, with heated cabin. Custom tours are any combination of fishing, whale watching, eco touring, and visits to the hot springs - day trips have ample time for serious application to fishing effort, followed up by a relaxing dip in the hot springs in the afternoon. 

Hymax Charters – The HYMAX is a very solid, spacious, fully equipped high-end fishing/cruising machine; 40-foot custom-built command bridge sport fisher built for the west coast. This thriving rugged environment creates catch opportunities found nowhere else on the coast. We target Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Halibut and Rock Cod. In addition we usually set and check the Crab and Prawn traps when leaving and returning to the harbour.

We offer Salt Water fly fishing as well, the techniques have been around awhile, but are still evolving and gaining popularity. Working the kelp beds, back eddies, and various shore line structures makes for an up close more connected exchange with your fishing environment. We fly-fish from a very heavy duty 24' rigid hulled Zodiac originally designed for North Sea surf rescue. It has an aluminum T-Roof and center console and is equipped with a 200 hp outboard, 8hp kicker, 2 radios, radar, sounder, and safety gear. This is a very fast all weather boat that allows us to cover a lot of water, and makes a very stable, safe platform to cast from.
