Barkley Sound is known for its world-class saltwater fishing. In February and March herring gather in large numbers to spawn on the northern shore of Barkley Sound, drawing resident feeder Chinook. The highest number of Chinook, Coho and sockeye salmon, pass through Barkley Sound May – July, the best time for big Chinook (60 lbs), is July – September. For those who want to experience Open Ocean fishing, the action happens 20 miles off-shore from Ucluelet and Tofino.
Come make your memories catching salmon, halibut, and rock fish with Moonsnail Charters. And of course whale watching and taking wildlife pictures. The Boat is a 24' Hourston Glascraft that has been totally rebuilt and customed out for fishing the West Coast, comfortably and safely. The boat is loaded with the latest and greatest in electronics, electric downriggers and all of the gear required to rip some lips.
